All rates are per canoe hire

  • Maximum capacity is 3 adults OR 2 adults and 2 small children - minimum age is 4 years old.
  • There MUST always be ONE ADULT on board.
  • We recommend there should be (minimum) 2 people able to use a paddle per canoe.
  • All equipment, including a buoyancy aid is included in the price of your session.
  • Each canoe has 280kg max capacity.

For all water-activities you must be able to swim.

ABOUT CANOEING

Open canoes are larger than paddleboards or kayaks with space and seating for people and maybe a small dog. It's an open water craft and is propelled by single blade paddles.

Our Canadian style open canoes are equipped with a seat at the front and one at the rear with a central bench that can accommodate 2 children. We recommend there should be (minimum) 2 people able to use a paddle per canoe.

What you need for canoe hire

We supply the following gear:

  • Canoe
  • Paddles
  • Bouyancy aids (MUST be worn at all times)
  • A brief instruction before hire

We recommend you bring the following:

  • Clothing and footwear you don't mind getting wet.
  • Your legs tend to get a bit wet from the paddles so we advise you not to wear jeans.
  • In the summer shorts are good!
  • Hot weather - suncream and a bottle of water are essential and don't forget a sunhat.
  • Cold weather - layers of warm clothing, a change of clothes and extra snacks are always good!
  • We suggest bringing a mobile phone in case of emergencies, and we have dry bags which can be purchased from our shop
  • A waterproof jacket/trousers can also be useful.
