About This Adventure

Duration

1.5 hours

About

BEGINNER/ INTERMEDIATE /ADVANCED

REQUIRED - To have had a prior efoil lesson in a river and be ready to venture into ocean conditions.

YOU CAN EXPECT for it to be easier than you thought and to have an experience of planing and foiling above the wave. Efoil surfing is much easier than unpowered foil surfing and is the natural first step in the ocean as a foiler. If though you have had an efoil lesson or have had prior foiling experience and are ready,we can go straight into Unpowered surf foiling whether SUP or Prone.

Intro - First 10 minutes

  • Review how Fliteboard works
  • Review about the Flite controller and how to control its speed and stopping
  • Safety considerations
  • Things to know about the location
  • Positioning on the board and how this relates to planing and foiling
  • How to get the most out of the session

*Water Time

  • Safety around other surfers
  • Choosing the right wave
  • preparing for the extra lift from the wave and the dead spot at the bottom of a wave.
  • Riding the crest and dropping the power so you are relying on the wave.
  • Riding unpowered

Instructor is on his own fliteboard to follow and support.

BEGINNER

If the conditions are super small and glassy and the waves are crumbling not peaking, one can go from one lesson in the river to their 2nd lesson in the ocean. We go through the same steps as learning to efoil in the river and focus on riding on the surface and planing in the ocean first before flight time. If unpowered is your thing we can support you SUP or Prone foiling.

INTERMEDIATE

Whether powered or unpowered we focus on refining feet positioning and take off prep and execution, how to gain confidence turning and for Efoilers refining gear speed use in the ocean. You will also often move from the larger Fliteboard to the Pro and in some cases the Ultra board. (Refer to the website for more info)

ADVANCED

We focus on higher and lower speed turning, pumping and greater height control, connecting waves and the use of different wings, and for the Efoil the more refined use of the Flite controller gears and and the Free glide prop.

Location will be confirmed prior to lesson
