About

Enjoy a beautiful morning of diving on the Mighty "O" the largest artificial reef in the world. This monster of an aircraft carrier is a dive that can't be missed. It measures 911 feet long 150 tall and 150 wide. While it sits in 223 feet of water it's tower is easily reachable at 80 feet. Our boat ties right into the top of the wreck which makes this an easy dive. There is a lot to see from pelagic fish such as Amber Jack, Cobia and Wahoo to reef fish such as the famous Red Snapper to Grouper, Black Snapper and Almaco Jack. Tropical angels, Octopus and Lobster can also be found on this fantastic dive. The water in usually very clear with visibility up to 125 feet and water temps reaching 87 degrees in the summer months. Join us for an adventure that you will not forget. If you are spearfishing we can help you land the big one and make sure you bring home plenty of filets.

Dives trips meet at the dock at 7:00am with a quick safety briefing then is off to the site. A dive master accompanies every dive and will assist you with gear and show you the wreck. We do not rent equipment so make sure you have all dive gear including tanks and weights. Spearguns and spearfishing are allowed and the fishing license is covered by the boat. Bring your highest level of dive certification and any Nitrox cards as we will need to see it and have waiver and release filled out before departure. Time and depth instruments are required for all divers. Computers are required with depths over 80ft. deep. We supply drinks and some snack but bring a lunch if you so desire.

What to Bring

  • Dive Certification Cards
  • Scuba gear Including Tanks and weights
  • Personal Dive Computers or Tables and Watch
  • Sunscreen
  • Seasickness medications
  • Swim suits
  • Towels
  • Prescription medications you may require
  • Save-a-dive kit
  • Spare batteries
  • Wide-brimmed hat
  • Long-sleeved rash-guard

If you need help finding rental gear, please let Captain Andy know as far in advance as possible. The Niuhi carries no extra dive gear, so if you show up without a regulator, you're probably not going to dive.

Please show up on time, and be prepared to leave the dock 10-15 minutes after the posted charter time. You can save yourself some time by printing and filling out the waiver before you come to the boat.

We have space for your dive bags and boxes but please pack reasonably. Please assemble your scuba unit at one of the tank holders. Some people assemble their gear before they board, which is good too!

Let the crew know if you have any special requests, we′ll try our best to accommodate you.

Divemasters work for tips, and the customary gratuity for a dive charter is 20%. If you feel the crew went the extra mile to make your day fun and safe, please show them your appreciation.
