Embark on a lengthy 11-mile river kayaking/canoeing adventure through some of the most picturesque landscapes the region has to offer. As you set off from your starting point, you'll find yourself gently drifting along the river's smooth currents, surrounded by the lush greenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
The New River, renowned for its gentle rapids and serene stretches, provides the perfect balance of relaxation and excitement. You'll navigate through mild riffles and small rapids, adding just the right amount of thrill to your tubing experience. Feel the refreshing splash of cool water as you float through scenic bends and tranquil pools, all while soaking in the natural beauty that unfolds around you.
After approximately 4-6 hours, your adventure concludes at a designated landing area where friendly staff from Canoe the New will be waiting to greet you.
• Canoes: Old Town Discoveries. They are 2 seaters with enough room between for 1-2 small children. Canoes are also the best option for dogs, large coolers, and/equipment. 1,000 lb capacity.
• Kayaks: Sinlge person sit-in kayaks. We use Old Town Herons, Otters, and Vapors. There is enough room for a lunch box sized cooler, or a small amount of fishing gear. 255 lb capacity.
• Tubes: Open bottom with 2 handles and a cup holder. We offer clips to hook multiple tubes together upon request.
Use closed-toe water shoes for safety and traction in the boat.
