Explore the beautiful backwaters of Cherry Grove salt water creeks as you travel out to Waties Island for a personal excursion on a private Island only accessible to the public by boat. Great for shell hunting, fishing, sunbathing, or just relaxing on the beach without the crowds.

With this rental you may see:

• Birds such as Blue Herons, Great Egrets, Bald Eagles, Osprey, Ducks, Marsh Hens, and Snowy Egrets, Terns, Oyster Catchers, and Black Skimmers, and large Brown Pelicans
• Our warm summers bring in Loggerhead Sea Turtles which are often spotted breaking the water's surface to replenish their air supply
• Bottle Nose dolphins can also be seen regularly throughout the year frolicking in the waves or feeding on Redfish in the shallow creeks.

Paddle through the peaceful saltwater and enjoy the solitude and serenity that this thriving ecosystem has to offer. Don't forget your camera for photo opportunities abound!

Parking

Parking for Waties Island is $2 per hour. The Waties Island Rental is a 4 hour excursion, but you should plan on parking for at least 5 hours. Visitors can pay using several methods.

• Option 1: Text 2 park – Text the location code starting with “NMB” at each City-owned parking lot, then follow the link that will be texted
• Option 2: Passport Parking App – Download the Passport Parking app, register an account, enter the zone number located by signage at each City-owned parking lot, then confirm the amount of time you will be parking
• Option 3: Pay Station – Enter your license plate into the kiosk located at each City-owned parking lot, select the amount of time, insert your payment card
