We have running our Girls on Waves Weekends for over 10 years with girls and women of all ages learning to surf in a fun and friendly environment on Devon’s best surf beach.
All sessions will be led by qualified female surf instructors, and are suitable for girls and women of all ages from eight to eighty. All abilities are welcome and this year we are pleased to announce a partnership with Nalu Beads.
Nalu is a local surf jewelry brand inspired by surf beaches around the UK and world! Each participant will be given the Croyde Nalu Bead along with 2 other Surf Collection beads, a set of Sea Glass Spacers and the cord needed to make your own piece of unique Nalu jewelry.
2025 Dates: ~ September 20th and 21st
On arrival our instructors will have a chat with you to ascertain your surfing experience, and we will ensure that you are placed in a group with female surfers of a similar ability.
There are 3 options from a half day taster to a 1 ½ day weekend surf course. The weekend course is the recommended option for maximum progress and sense of achievement. By the end of this course almost all participants will be standing up and riding waves to the shore.
The weekend takes place from our surf centre next to Croyde Beach with changing rooms, safe storage of belongings and toilet facilities.
We have been awarded ‘Centre of Excellence’ status by Surfing England. This is the highest level attainable and is awarded in recognition that Surf South West has the highest standards of coaching. We are also the proud winners of Surf School of the Year and hold a Green Tourism Gold Award for our commitment to sustainability and the environment.
