Course Description: Designed for those new to tidal currents and moving water, this class is meant for students not ready to go into Deception Pass and are looking for that first experience in confusing water. We will head into the waters surrounding Strawberry Island during a flood tide where the incoming water will form a variety of water features such as eddy lines, boils, back eddys, swirls. etc. to explore and play in appropriate for that first time experience in these features. We'll actively explore edge dynamics, how to cross different water features, introduce how to read water and bracing to maintain stability.
