Our Acadia Youth Kayaking excursions are roughly 2-2.5 hour commitments and geared towards families on vacation! They are typically operating in a very protected bay on the shores of Mount Desert Island. These excursions aim at encouraging our youth to get inspired by the beauty of the rugged Maine coast, and all that Acadia has to offer them. They are the future of this region, and we seek to show them a paddling experience unlike any other! Your Registered Maine Guide will decide which route will be the most enjoyable and safest based on wind direction/velocity, visibility and tides. Maine State Sea Kayak specializes in quality Ecological Sea Kayak Tours. Tandems are most commonly used versus single kayaks
Each child under the age of 16 must be at least 6 years old and will be paired with an adult from their party. (Please select an assistant to accommodate an additional child, only 1 assistant per tour)
“Very accommodating for Families”
"Can't say enough about the willingness to go above and beyond so that our entire family could enjoy this experience. We had 3 children with us...ages 9, 10, and 13. None were old enough to kayak alone, so these guys sent an extra guide along on the ride just to row with our son!! Was so nice, they didn't have to do this! All the kids as well as adults in our party had a great time. Very knowledgeable guides and so safety conscience with regard to weather conditions..."
