About This Adventure

Join an engaging 1.5-hour skills workshop designed for aspiring paddlers! Learn essential techniques for both hardboards and inflatables, including safety practices, maneuvering, and self-rescue methods. Gain confidence on the water while mastering the art of stand-up paddling in a supportive environment. Perfect for beginners ready to dive in!

About:

If you've never taken a lesson before, there is no better time than now. This lesson will help you be a knowledgeable, skilled and safe paddler, and will raise your confidence enjoyment of the sport.

In this skills workshop you will learn:

  • SUP Equipment (inflatable & hardboard)
  • Paddling Technique: How to hold the paddle, Stroke techniques, Body mechanics, Turning techniques, Slowing and stopping, Avoiding collisions Maneuvering: Entering and launching in the water, Mounting and dis-mounting the board, Turning while stationary and moving, Navigating the water, Avoiding obstacles and people, How to fall and re-mount.
  • Safety: Reading the weather and environment, Equipment, Safe paddling practices on land and water, Communication on the water, Avoiding hazardous situations.
  • Self-rescue & rescue techniques.

Rates:

$45 pp You will learn on both a hardboard and an inflatable. If you have your own inflatable, you are encouraged to bring it.

How to Prepare

When you book your reservation, you'll receive a confirmation email that includes instructions on how to prepare.

Requirements

  • 16+ years of age
  • Ability to swim unassisted
  • 24 hour cancellation
  • Signed waiver.
  • Valid ID at check-in.
