About This Adventure

Embark on an unforgettable half-day diving adventure at Cook Island, a protected aquatic reserve teeming with vibrant marine life. Encounter majestic turtles, seasonal leopard sharks, and colorful corals while guided by experienced dive professionals. This unique experience promises breathtaking underwater sights just two nautical miles from Fingal Head.

Location: Cook Island (Jungarra Ngarrian), also known as Turtle Island Duration: Approx. 6 hours (Half-day trip – includes travel, setup, 2 boat dives, and gear pack-down)


Discover One of Australia’s Top Dive Sites Just two nautical miles off Fingal Head, Cook Island is a protected aquatic reserve bursting with marine life. Known locally as Turtle Island, it’s home to resident green, hawksbill, and loggerhead turtles.

You’ll also encounter seasonal leopard sharks, plus year-round sightings of giant groupers, rays, wobbegongs, nudibranchs, anemonefish, giant sponges, and vibrant soft corals.

Trip Breakdown (Approx. 6 Hours)

  • Arrival and gear setup at Gold Coast Dive Centre
  • Transport to the boat launch site
  • Safety Briefing on dive vessel before departure
  • Boat travel to Cook Island
  • Two dives (locations may vary depending on conditions)
  • Return to base for gear pack-down, rinse, and debrief

Prerequisites:

  • Certified SSI Open Water Diver or equivalent
  • Must have dived within the past 12 months
  • Please bring your certification card and/or logbook

Note: You must only dive to depths you're trained for or have logged experience in. We may ask to see your certification or logbook for safety.

Motion Sickness Advice If you’re prone to seasickness, we recommend:

  • Travacalm Original, Travacalm HO, or Kwells (30 minutes before departure and/or night before)
  • Avoid heavy or greasy meals beforehand (toast is ideal)
  • Stay hydrated and bring a reusable water bottle

Note: Natural remedies like ginger are generally ineffective.
