• A HISTORY & HERITAGE HAWKESBURY RIVER FERRY TOUR

On board the ferry 'Sorrento,' a large A/V screen will display award-winning, specially prepared graphics, historic onsite photographs, and videos of working models and animations throughout the ferry tour with live commentary.

Hawkesbury River Ferry Tour Highlights:

1 - Historical Insights:

• Explore Juno Point WWII defences and the River bed minefield.
• Uncover the history of HMAS Hawkesbury and the West Head defences with the inclined railway.
• Discover the WWII Woy Woy airfield and the warship wrecks of HMAS Parramatta and Swan, Australia's first naval fleet.

2 - WWII Rendezvous and Submarines:

• Learn about the rendezvous point and the history of the eight IJN submarines involved in the 1942 Sydney attack.

3 - River Structures and Rail Bridges:

• Delve into the mysteries of the two Hawkesbury River Rail Bridges, including the reasons behind the first one's failure and insights into their construction.
