Always wear a Coast Guard-approved life jacket for safety on the water.
Prior to paddling, review weather forecasts to avoid storms and high winds.
Get to the launch point early to set up and receive instructions.
Apply sunscreen, wear a hat, and sunglasses for sun safety.
The Chesapeake Bay has been a vital waterway since colonial times, supporting indigenous tribes and early settlers, which adds a historic layer to your paddling experience.
Capital SUP Annapolis partners with local organizations to promote environmental stewardship, encouraging paddlers to Leave No Trace and protect the bay’s delicate ecosystems.
A Coast Guard-approved PFD is required for safety during all paddle sessions.
