This is an all-inclusive day tour from Lyttleton Harbour pick up point. Your coach driver will take you through Christchurch showing you the wonderful rebuilding that is being completed after the 2011/12 earthquakes. Once you arrive at Springfield Adventure Park you will boat upstream through the Waimakariri River canyon. This is a longer tour than the normal sixty-minute Canyon Safari. Enjoy your cheese platter while learning about the Kiwi inventor who introduced the world to jet boats. Much of the development from Bill Hamilton’s early invention happened opposite us on Woodstock Beach and we even have Bill’s last personal jet boat on display.
Our Gourmet Burger lunch consists of a warm ciabatta bun with homemade beef patty (vegetarian available on pre request), a selection of Barker’s relishes and a variety of salads to choose from. It’s preceded with an extensive cheese platter and followed with a trio of sweet treats, filtered coffee, tea and cold drinks. After lunch take a stroll on our native bush walk. It boasts one of the oldest Matai trees in Canterbury (around 400 years) as well as several very large black beech trees that the bees use for making their popular Honeydew. It’s a short easy stroll of 5 to 10 minutes with dozens of easy-to-read signs explaining the various trees. It’s also home to several native species of birds including fantail, Bellbird and Wood Pigeon.
Our newest pet merino lamb will join PJ Peggy, Little Guy and Lucky will need to be fed before your coach takes you back across the Canterbury Plains to the ship.
