Experience the thrill of shellfishing on Onset Bay! Enjoy a scenic boat ride to Burgess Point beach, where you'll learn to catch clams and quahogs in a hands-on, guided adventure. This engaging, catch-and-release event is perfect for ages 8 and up, making it a memorable outing for families and friends.

Take a short boat ride to Burgess Point beach, step into some waders or go in without, and learn how to shellfish for clams and quahogs.
This is a catch and release event intended to teach participants how to properly shellfish according to local rules and regulations.
After the activity, head back to Onset Bay Center to end our program! This event is free and open to all participants age 8+. Participants under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
All equipment is provided. Please wear comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting wet. Participants will have the option to wear waders when they entering the water but may get wet at points during the activity. Participants will be guided through the activities by Onset Bay Center staff member!
Shellfishing permits can be purchased through the Wareham Department of Natural Resources for anyone interested! All who participate in shellfishing around Onset Bay should always follow local rules and regulations pertaining to shellfishing.
