About

Is it your first time trying surfing? Something you've always wanted to do together? Maybe one of you has more experience?

Surfing is a great way to spend some time together in the sea and create lifelong memories, and maybe a lifelong surfing habit!

This booking is for a couple (two adults) taking part in an open group lesson.

We provide all the equipment you'll need, including high-quality 5mm thick winter wetsuits that keep you toasty, and gloves, boots, and hoods if needed.

What to expect?

You'll check in and meet your instructor. Then we'll get changed and head down to beach for an introduction, theory and important safety info. After getting loose with a warm up we'll get in the water, where your instructor will give you personalised advice based on your ability and goals. Time for fun in the sea! We'll have about 1.5 hours water time, and the lesson will last about 2 hours total after we're changed and on the beach.

What will I learn?

If you're a beginner, we'll cover beach & ocean safety, and introduction to surf equipment, wave selection and catching broken waves independently, and pop-up technique (standing up). Depending on your level and the conditions of the day, we will move on to cover speed control, turning left and right, paddling out and the turtle roll, catching unbroken green waves, angled takeoffs, bottom turns, and cutbacks.

What to bring?

Please bring a towel, sunscreen, and water. We recommend you arrive with swimwear on (for under your wetsuit) as it makes it easier to get changed at the beach.

Requirements

  • We ask that everybody taking part in our surf lessons can swim unaided.
