About This Adventure

About

This tour leaves from Wacca Wache Landing, and we paddle up the Waccamaw river and into a little creek that takes us to a dock on Sandy Island. Guests will get the full cypress forest experience, similar to our 2-hour cypress tour. We get out onto the Island and hike through long leaf pine, sand covered hills on the island and even see a Carolina Bay, which is home to very rare and unusual carnivorous plants. Guest can enjoy their lunch before we return to the kayaks to paddle through various other creeks before we end up back at the landing. We see a great number of birds including nesting osprey and great blue herons, great diversity of marine and fresh water animals and the chance to even encounter the occasional family of dolphins on their journey for the inlet. This is our guides’s favorite and offers a full emersion of wildlife and a side of Myrtle Beach rarely seen.
