Explore one of the most interesting areas in Beaufort county, from a natural history conservation and cultural history standpoint. On this tour we will explore the “C” in ACE Basin, the Combahee River. We will discuss rice culture and history, conservation successes, and the present use of the historic rice fields.
We will bring guide(s), kayaks, paddles, and PFD’s for each person in your party. Please dress for the weather and bring at least 1 L of drinking water. Cameras and binoculars are welcome; however, if you bring a camera, you may want to place it in a Ziploc bag for protection. We also suggest you bring a pair of bike or golf gloves - they aren't required but many find they are happy they brought them!
