Experience an exhilarating 20ft ocean dive to explore a fascinating wreck, guided by an experienced instructor. This unique adventure requires divers to be physically fit and comfortable in the water, as you'll navigate currents and surf. Enjoy the convenience of gear rental delivered right to the beach for a hassle-free experience.
This is a 20ft dive off the beach. Equipment rental is additional. Includes an active, experienced, and insured Instructor (or Dive Master) to explain the history of the wreck, tell you what you need to know about the dive, and guide you to and from the site. The guides job is to get you out to wreck. It is your job to know how to dive. This dive takes place in the OCEAN so expect some current and surge. (If it is too rough we don't dive.)
Every diver will need a timekeeping device to keep track of dive time (watch or dive computer) and GLOVES. We do rent dive computers. If you don't have gloves, you can buy them on our on-line store and we will bring to the beach. Wrecks are sharp and you NEED GLOVES!! We also do not recommend snorkeling fins or split fins. Since there is always the tug of tide, some current and surge you will need a pair of scuba fins and boots. Walking in with bare feet to put on snorkel fins can be dangerous as we have stingrays, glass and other sharp objects that can hurt your feet.
We bring the gear to the site! We won't make you run around on your vacation. Don't forget to give us your size and weight information when booking. Add it in the Comments section or give us a call or email. Also, make sure that if you book more than yourself, you need to LET US KNOW THE NAMES OF THE OTHER DIVERS WITH YOU. We need names to be able to check waivers. Then all you have to do is show up on time.
You'll need to be able to set up your equipment. We are firm on this since if there is an issue with your gear, you need to know how to deal with it. If you do not, you will need to request a Refresher Diver Class with checkout dive. This is separate from the dive. Cost for Rusty Diver is $175 and includes scuba equipment. Book this class early in week so you can dive the next day.
If you are renting equipment you will need to let us know sizes and amount of weight you need.
Notes: the $50.00 price does not include gear rental. Beach dives, while shallower than charters, are more physically demanding. All beach dives require swimming on the surface, through the surf, and out 150 - 200 yards. You need to be able to walk across the beach with all your equipment on. (@50 lbs.) You must feel very comfortable in the ocean, and be in good physical shape with a strong swimming ability. It is recommended that divers be 15+ years old.
