Phantom Sailing is a Russell-based charter company offering guided sailing experiences in the Bay of Islands, Northland, New Zealand. Operating from Russell, Phantom Sailing specialises in small-group private cruises and day charters that explore sheltered bays, hidden coves, and island anchorages across the Bay of Islands. Trips focus on relaxed exploration, scenic sailing, and comfortable onboard dining featuring local New Zealand cheeses, seasonal fruit, and homemade treats. Phantom Sailing's flagship offerings include a six-hour Bay of Islands Private Cruise and a 5.5-hour Bay of Islands Day Cruise, each guided by experienced local skippers familiar with regional weather, marine navigation, and safe anchoring locations. The company prioritises passenger comfort and safety through well-maintained vessels, clear pre-departure briefings, and adherence to local maritime regulations. Group sizes are kept intentionally small to ensure personalised service, flexible itineraries, and the ability to visit quieter beaches and lesser-known spots. Phantom Sailing works from a recognised Russell departure point and collaborates with local suppliers for fresh produce served onboard, supporting regional businesses. Reviews and bookings are commonly available through The Adventure Collective and major tourism listings, providing transparent customer feedback and verified scheduling. Phantom Sailing presents an authentic Bay of Islands sailing experience suitable for couples, families, and small groups seeking a curated, non-commercial day at sea. Advance bookings are recommended during peak season to secure preferred dates and vessel availability.
