Descrizione
Baia, nei Campi Flegrei, in provincia di Napoli, al tempo degli antichi romani divenne una fiorente stazione climatica, nei pressi dell’importante porto commerciale di Portus Julius e l’imponente insediamento della flotta militare di Capo Miseno. In questa zona da millenni esiste il fenomeno del bradisismo, dovuto all'azione vulcanica del territorio, che ha causato l'inabissamento di parte delle importanti rovine. Terme imperiali, preziosi mosaici, sinuose statue e pavimenti in marmo sono stati ritrovati sott'acqua. A protezione di tutto ciò, nel 2002 è stato creato il PARCO ARCHEOLOGICO SOMMERSO di BAIA dal valore storico e culturale ineguagliabile.
