3 Day Overnight Kayaking Tours depart at 8 AM.
The itinerary is not set until the day prior to departure. Once your guide has the latest weather forecast to correlate with the tides will the itinerary will be set. But the following will provide an idea of how each day will go.
Day 1:Pack up and head out. Day one can be a bit of a scramble as you get introduced to a lot of equipment and paddling techniques. Once we leave the beach, you can expect approximately 12 miles of paddling with a lunch stop midway.
Day 2: The only day where the group can decide on a lazy day and basecamp or pack up and paddle to another island. Choosing the basecamp option allows for a mellow morning and a shorter day paddle. Choosing to pack up and head to a new island will commit you to another 12 miles of paddling.
Day 3: Time to head back. Usually, an earlier start to the day ensures everyone gets breakfast and plenty of time to pack up. Being the final day, we head back to San Juan Island and plan to be back in town by 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM.
We have a dedicated page on our website for reference when preparing for your multi-day kayak tour. Once you reserve, you will receive an email with preparation details as well. Please visit our Kayak Tour Preparation page for further details.
We strongly advise arriving the day before on San Juan Island.
If you plan to take the Washington State Ferry in the morning of the tour, it is likely it will not be on time, and we will not delay our departure. This will be considered a no-show, and no refunds will be given.
At the end of the tour, do not make tight travel plans. Though it is rare, weather can delay our arrival back to town for several hours. Mother Nature controls when we get back.
