The bus eases away from the curb and the city’s winter lights stretch like a promise — warm bulbs draped over iron fences, a giant evergreen glowing on the Ellipse, and storefronts throwing sharp, modern reflections onto wet pavement. You meet outside the White House Visitor Center, step aboard a climate-controlled coach, and for the next 2 hours and 15 minutes Washington’s holiday traditions move past the windows.
