A humid breeze carries the sound of water before you see it — Wanale Falls appears as a misted sheet sliding over a broad rock face, the spray daring you to step closer. The path up Wanale Ridge threads through farmland and montane scrub, then opens onto rocky ledges that throw a wide view over Mbale and the flanks of Mount Elgon.
