Tour description

The reindeer are synonymous with Lapland, and at Apukka Resort, you'll have the chance to experience nature with them. This tour will take you to a fenced area where curious reindeer await your arrival. Let's open the gate and head into the woods with the reindeer and a professional reindeer herder. These reindeer are friendly and love to explore the surroundings. As you journey, the herder will share stories about the reindeer and their unique profession. Upon our return, we'll savour a hot cup of black pot coffee—a true Lappish favourite!

Please note

Our reindeer farm is a few minutes' walk from the resort.

Kindly, we request all guests to approach our animals with respect. Take it slow and avoid sudden movements that may startle them. While our reindeer are accustomed to human interaction and are friendly, maintaining a calm composure ensures the best experience.

Be aware that we cannot permit any external snacks to be brought for the reindeer.

How do I get to the activity?

If you stay at Apukka Resort:

  • Arrive at the meeting point 10 min. before the start of the activity.

If you need transportation:

  • The price of the activity includes transfers to and from Apukka Resort with our shuttle bus.
  • The bus stops are located at Rovaniemi city center and Santa Claus Village’s bus stop, situated by the main road (Road E75).
  • Choose the pick-up point during the booking process.
  • You will receive an email with the pick-up details.
  • Please be at the bus stop at least 10 minutes before the given departure time.
  • The transfer won’t wait, so punctuality is essential!
  • If you’re late for the transfer, the tour won’t be refunded.

If you arrive by car:

  • You can park your car in Apukka’s parking lot (Tutkijantie 28, Rovaniemi).
  • Arrive at least 20 min before the activity starts.
  • Pick up your winter gear from the Apukka Adventures dressing room.
  • Wait at the meeting point until the tour begins.
