Wakesurfing is a water sport in which a rider trails behind a boat, riding the boat’s wake without being directly pulled by the boat. After getting up on the wake, typically by use of a tow rope, the wakesurfers will drop the rope, and ride the steep face below the wave’s peak in a fashion reminiscent of surfing. Wakesurfers generally use special boards, designed specifically for wakes.
Our experienced Wake Surf instructors and our Mastercraft X15 with 1000 liters of ballast will make your Wake Surf lesson or advanced session an unforgettable experience. Our setup is perfect for beginners and advanced Wake Surfers!
This is how it is done! Wakesurfing starts with a surfer lying in the water with his or her feet on the board, ready to quickly stand up. The surfer holds onto a towrope as the boat picks up speed, eventually topping out anywhere from 9 to 11 miles per hour. The surfer then jumps into a standing surfing position, drops the rope and surfs through the wake the boat creates. A surfer may be able to ride the wave for as long as five minutes, and more advanced surfers can perform tricks, spins and other stunts
Smooth water is key for wakesurfing; avoid windy or choppy conditions for the best experience.
Arriving 15 minutes early ensures a relaxed gear setup and briefing before hitting the water.
