A morning on the Wakan trail starts with the hush of high-altitude air and the steady rhythm of a vehicle easing out of Muscat. By the time hikers step off at Wakan — roughly 2,000 meters above sea level — the terraces and irrigation channels have already been working their slow magic: water slides, plants lean toward light, and the mountain seems to breathe.

The full experience is a roughly 10-hour day that includes air-conditioned round-trip transport from Muscat (about 2 hours each way), guided trekking and lunch.

It’s best for those with moderate fitness; beginners who are comfortable with sustained uphill walking and uneven terrain can participate, but it’s not recommended for those with spinal, cardiac, or pregnancy restrictions.
