You step into a cool Ford Transit as the coastal road unfurls — black lava fingers meet sunlit sand, and the ocean ahead dares you to dive in. The van hums past quiet coves and hand-picked viewpoints; guides point out fishpond remnants and a shoreline still shaped by recent volcanic flows. By the time you slide into the water, the reef feels alive, channels and coral heads guiding you toward the slow, deliberate shape of a green sea turtle.
