Morning light slices across the Hajar foothills as a 4WD eases off the paved road and onto the dust tracks toward Wadi Tiwi. Within an hour the air cools under palm fronds and the valley narrows; water pools mirror the cliffs and invite a cold, clear dip. You move between shallow rock-to-rock crossings and narrow terraces where farmers have coaxed dates and citrus from steep soil for generations.
