About This Adventure

Embark on an unforgettable adventure through Vancouver Island's old-growth forest, witnessing salmon in their natural habitat and exploring a stunning waterfall. Soar 250m high on the Skywalk for breathtaking views, enjoy a family scavenger hunt at Esquimalt Lagoon, and stroll around the historic Hatley Castle grounds.

Walk in the old-growth forest alongside the salmon to a waterfall, soar 250m in the sky with the birds and walk around a Victoria Castle.

Your guide will pick you up from your accommodation at 8 am to start the day and bring you back around 2:30 pm. Start the day with a visit to the Old Growth forest surrounding Goldstream Park. You will walk alongside one of the most important salmon creeks on Vancouver Island. In the right season, you can even witness the salmon in action! Goldstream also features an impressive Waterfall tucked in a small canyon. Note that th canyon walk in is IN the stream bed. Ususally dry in the summer but still on uneven rocks and over few debris.

After this, we will continue up the gorgeous Malahat highway to the Skywalk. This tower 250m above sea level offers a gentle slope to gently take you up to the top where you will be soaring amongst birds, looking over the ocean and mountain tops. A net at the top offers a lounging area and some chairs and benches can make for a good snack break. From there you can hop on the slide, down to the bottom, or walk back the way you came.

Our last stop will be a walk along the beautiful Esquimalt Lagoon. This natural lagoon features a gorgeous view of the city and hosts a variety of migratory birds all year round. We have a fun scavenger hunt for the whole family along the beautiful beach and it is the perfect spot for our having our lunch. You can even see the beautiful Hatley's Castle from the beach before we head over for a walk around the Castle's Grounds.

You can add a visit to the Castle's interior if you want to visit the inside of this Victorian era mansion full of history. Or if you prefer we can take you to Fort Rodd Hill, a national historical monument built to defend Victoria during the World War I. (Simply chose the castle visit option at checkout and we can decide which attraction to visit on the day)
