A gray limestone wall rises above scrub and a small reservoir; the wind off the inland plain pushes across your face as you clip into the first steel cable. The Via Ferrata della Regina threads a 1.5 km route along exposed ledges and iron rungs above the valley that drains toward Lake Temo, moving steadily upward for about 70 meters of gain over roughly two and a half hours.
