You step out of the minivan and the high valley air takes on a voice — cool, thin and sharp — daring you up the iron rungs carved into volcanic-andesite faces. The route begins at Pachar, a raw fringe of the Sacred Valley where agricultural terraces cut the slopes and wind tugs at loose threads of jacket. Above, a transparent dining capsule — the Skylodge — hangs like a challenge: a suspended room with 400-metre exposure and lunch with a view.
moderate.
8 hours.
Moderate—comfortable walking, stair-climbing and basic scrambling ability; prior high-altitude experience recommended.
No prior experience is required; guides provide instruction and via ferrata sets. A moderate fitness level and comfort with exposure are necessary.
Transport from Cusco, professional guides, safety equipment (harness, helmet, via-ferrata and zip-line sets, gloves), and either a 4-course Skylodge lunch or box lunch depending on your selection.
This activity is not recommended for children aged 8 or younger; operators enforce age and weight limits for safety.
The operator may cancel for safety if conditions are unsafe; standard cancellation allows full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours before departure.
The Sacred Valley was central to Inca agriculture and transport; many trail lines follow routes used for terrace maintenance and trade between Cusco and highland communities.
High-Andean ecosystems are fragile—stay on established routes, avoid disturbing flora and fauna, and pack out all waste; operators typically support local stewardship and use purified water refills.
Tangol operates guided outdoor trips and adventures with an emphasis on safety, stewardship, and memorable experiences.
