The Veluwe formed from glacial deposits; over centuries its sandy soils supported heathlands, hunting estates and small farming communities that shaped the region's rural character.
The Veluwe is managed to protect heath and forest habitats—stay on designated paths, avoid disturbing wildlife and pack out waste to minimize impact.
