On this tour, our day begins in Ponta Delgada and starting from this city we will visit the volcanic complex of Sete Cidades where we will have the opportunity to enjoy the most magnificent landscapes of this unique place. So, we head towards the Sete Cidades volcano, where we will make several stops, one of which will be at Pico do Carvão where we will be able to see a large part of the North coast of São Miguel Island. Then, we will pass by an aqueduct dating from the nineteenth century, where we can appreciate its magnificent construction and understand their importance in the water distribution network on the island. Take the opportunity to also visit the famous viewpoint of Vista do Rei and meet with our guides the various stories that this place provides. However, on the way down to the village of Sete Cidades you will have the possibility to see the beauty of Lagoa de Santiago, one of the many lagoons that we will visit. Then we will visit the parish of Sete Cidades and other places of interest. In this Parish we will have the opportunity to have lunch in a restaurant with traditional Azorean dishes. After lunchtime in Sete Cidades volcano, it is time to visit the fajã of Mosteiros, which presents the most varied manifestations of secondary volcanic activity, from black sand beaches and stunning pools formed of expelled lava by volcanoes. After visiting Mosteiros, we head to Escalvado Viewpoint, a very beautiful place with stunning views of the sea, where you can see Mosteiros and Ferraria and enjoy the immensity of the Atlantic Ocean. In Ferraria, the highlights are the lava arches and caves, as well as a natural pool heated by the volcano reaching maximum temperatures of 40ºC ( 104ºF), where you can take a relaxing bath. Before going back to Ponta Delgada you will also have the opportunity to visit one of the pineapple plantations present on the island, an iconic fruit and symbol of the region.
