Our Suburbs are better (or not!) than yours This is a story of perseverance, where young people abandoning the dreams of living in a chique Lisbon, had to move on and rebuild a new life in the outskirts.

About

For those who don't want to explore our packed city or its monuments but rather prefer to spend some time visiting the vibrant neighborhoods, the unknown and neglected landmarks that we used to explore when we were younger. This is our REAL city, and someone has to tell you this: No one lives in Lisbon anymore and our beloved city is getting closer to a Theme Park with its noisy fake rollercoasters of Alfama inside overcrowded Tuk-Tuks. The city changed, but we changed too. After being pushed to live outside town, we had to adapt, meet people, and enjoy our spare times while living there. The suburbs were the places that we chose to live, first as a plan B - because of the cost of living, then, because it was the only way to go. Now home to almost 2.5 million people, these satellite "cities" of Lisbon are the suburbs where we raise our kids and spend most of our lives.

This tour will give you the (in)sights and all the tips about the real city. An experience that can be done only if you really hate tourists, overcrowded places and prefer to experience the real vibe of our city. We will take you through the neighborhoods of suburban Lisbon, the city we were born and raised in, giving you all the tips about our favourite places for a non-touristy restaurant or small shop.

But why the Suburbs? Our suburbs are cities with their own services, monuments, factories, residential areas, parks, cinemas and old shops... They have a real vibe that unfortunately the city is missing nowadays, especially due to the drain of young population that can't live in Lisbon anymore.

This is a tour for those who wanna know more about the real Lisboans and the places that we choose to enjoyed our simple lives, because Lisbon doesn't love us anymore

The knowledge of a born and raised on the outskirts of Lisbon driver/anti-tour guide, a comfortable van and all the truth about the city, good and especially the bad ;)

Suburban districts outside Lisbon that became cities already. The suburbs with their own cultural identity, old palaces and historical sites deep in a concrete jungle full of black and white dreams.

This tour is limited to a group of 6 people, to give you the best experience. After all, we hate tourism tours :D
