The morning opens on the Zambezi with light catching the river’s slow teeth; canoes line up and guides call instructions as the bank hums with hippo sounds and distant elephant calls. You push off and the current takes the pace, the river daring you forward through braided channels edged by fig and mopane.

The full experience is about 6–7 hours door‑to‑door; pickup is usually around 7:30am with return to Victoria Falls mid‑afternoon.
Rapids are generally grade one to two—fun and manageable for beginners under guide supervision, but may require short manoeuvres and basic paddling technique.
Children are often allowed (check operator age limits) and non‑swimmers may join if they are comfortable wearing a life jacket and following guide instructions; disclose medical or fitness concerns when booking.
