Upper Antelope Canyon lies within the Navajo Nation and is managed in partnership with Navajo guides; the canyon’s sculpted walls were formed by seasonal flash floods over thousands of years.
The canyon’s fragile sandstone and narrow passages require strict rules — staying on route, not touching walls, and following guide instructions preserves the site and supports local stewardship.
