Set sail from the bustling port of Corralejo, located on Fuerteventura’s northern coast, for an invigorating catamaran adventure destined for the exquisite Papagayo beaches. This mini cruise offers an ideal blend of relaxation and exploration, letting travelers immerse themselves in some of the region’s most pristine coastal waters within the Canary Islands, Spain.
Papagayo’s beaches are renowned for their dazzling turquoise seas, golden sand, and striking natural beauty backed by rugged volcanic cliffs—a testament to the island’s volcanic origins. Unlike crowded tourist hotspots, these beaches remain relatively unspoiled due to their protected status within a natural park. As your catamaran cruises along the shimmering Atlantic, you’ll savor expansive ocean views and refreshing sea breezes that awaken the senses.
Upon departing from Playa Blanca aboard a comfortable catamaran, the journey includes a charming stop at Marina Rubicón, a stylish harbor with seaside cafes and boutiques that reflect the relaxed island lifestyle. The boat then anchors off the shores of Papagayo, giving you ample time—from 2:20 pm to 3:50 pm approximately—to swim in crystal-clear waters or snorkel among underwater rock formations and vibrant marine life native to the Canarian coasts. The bay’s calm and clear conditions make it perfect for both novices and seasoned snorkelers to enjoy the underwater spectacle.
Onboard, snacks and refreshing drinks like sangría, beer, and water are available for purchase, although meals are not included to encourage a full-day outdoor experience where you bring your own provisions or explore local dining afterward. The entire trip, lasting about eight hours round-trip including ferry transfers, is backed by travel insurance for peace of mind.
With the route starting from Corralejo, near Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, this excursion offers a perfect half-day or full-day escape for visitors staying on Fuerteventura or planning to explore the neighboring islands. The excursion is family-friendly, though minors must be accompanied by adults. The minimalist markings and preserved natural environment of Papagayo make this adventure particularly unique, allowing guests to soak in an authentic Canary Islands coastal experience free from overdevelopment.
