You step off the gangway into brisk Highland air and the driver is waiting — a private vehicle, a map spread across a knee, and the road unfurling toward the dark ribbon of Loch Ness. The day unfolds as a slow, deliberate loop: low clouds brushing mountain flanks, sheep dotting roadside fields, and the loch itself suddenly widening into mirror-black water at a viewpoint where silence feels compulsory.
easy.
8 hours.
Suitable for people of average fitness; only short, gentle walks from viewpoints are expected
The driver meets you at the Port of Invergordon for pickup and returns you to the port at the end of the full-day tour.
Lunch is not included; the itinerary allows free time in a village or café where you can purchase food.
Walking is minimal—mostly short strolls at viewpoints and to explore Beauly Priory; terrain is generally flat but can be uneven.
Loch Ness sightings are rare; the tour focuses on scenery, history, and viewpoints rather than guaranteed creature encounters.
Beauly Priory dates to the 13th century and later became associated with Highland clans; the Great Glen follows a major geological fault shaped by glaciation.
The loch and surrounding habitats are sensitive; stick to paths, pack out waste, and support local conservation trusts when possible.
