Get to grips with the basics of kitchen knives, then break down a whole chicken and use it to rustle up two delicious dishes. You’ll also chop, slice and dice your way to perfectly prepped veg and beautifully filleted fish, enjoying some tasty dishes along the way. Over to you, chef!

What you’ll do:

  • Cut to the chase: learn how to buy, sharpen and maintain the essential knives for any home kitchen.
  • Knives out: deconstruct a whole free-range chicken, cutting your costs on pre-portioned meat from the butcher.
  • Carve it up: transform 2 different chicken cuts into a saltimbocca and teriyaki.
  • Chop chop: learn key knife skills for prepping everyday vegetables and road test them with an epic veg stir-fry.
  • Unsheathe the chefs’ secrets to prepping and filleting round and flat fish, then fillet and fry a flat fish for yourself.
  • Take a seat at our chef’s table to tuck into your delicious feast.

What you’ll eat & drink:

  • Tender chicken saltimbocca.
  • Sticky chicken teriyaki with a veggie noodle stir-fry.
  • Pan-fried plaice with a caper & lemon sauce.
  • Rustic bread with a fresh salad on the side.
  • A complimentary glass of bubbles on arrival (or a soft drink, if you prefer).
  • Water is provided throughout and you’re welcome to purchase wine, beer, spirits & mixers, cocktails and softs from our drinks menu.

What to expect:

  • All ingredients, equipment and aprons will be provided.
  • Easy-to-follow demos, led by our expert teaching chef.
  • You'll work at your own station to recreate the dishes demonstrated by your teaching chef
  • Tuck into your feast around our chef's table (or pack a box to take home, if you prefer).
  • A digital recipe pack with everything you need to recreate the magic at home.

  • The duration of the class includes teaching demos and hands-on cooking, as well as time to tuck into delicious dishes at our chef’s table.
  • Only those who are actively taking part in a class are permitted at the Cookery School. Sadly, we are unable to accommodate spectators or provide a waiting area for friends and family.
