By the time the lights dip at Smoke & Mirrors Theater @ The House of Magic - 101 S. Easton Rd, Glenside Pa, 19038, the room changes from a suburban storefront into an arena of misdirection. Reynold Alexander ♦ Magic from Puerto Rico - September 11th & 12th 2026 stages a rare, interactive duel: two magicians trade illusions, punchlines, and escalating stunts while the audience votes for a victor. This is theater that demands attention and participation. The venue sits in Glenside, Pennsylvania, a short ride from central Philadelphia and an easy option for visitors looking to swap museum hours for a charged night show. The Smoke & Mirrors stage favors close-range sleight of hand and full-stage revelations equally: you can catch a coin vanish from arm’s reach or watch a dramatic levitation unfold under stage lights. The intimacy of the room magnifies small details—hand movements, eye contact, and the exact second a prop fails and comedy saves the moment. Expect a mix of set pieces and freestyle moments where the crew manipulates lighting, fog, and classic 'smoke and mirrors' effects to heighten surprise. The house has a staff-run box office and modest concessions; bring small bills if you plan to tip volunteers or buy a drink. The evening’s pacing moves fast—short rounds of magic keep momentum, so the best seats are those that let you see hands and faces simultaneously. What makes this booking unique is the headliner credit and format. Reynold Alexander’s connection to Puerto Rico brings distinct timing and cultural cadence to the material, and the two-performer format converts a passive evening into a judged contest. Expect polished classics, original apparatus work, and comedic setups designed to pull volunteers into the center of absurdity. A surprise guest appearance flips momentum without warning, turning votes and alliances into part of the show’s narrative arc. For travelers this is a practical, memorable night: age 16+ is required, doors typically open before the 8PM start, and the listed meeting point is Smoke & Mirrors Theater @ The House of Magic - 101 S. Easton Rd, Glenside Pa, 19038. Arrive early to secure a seat that matches your preferred viewpoint—aisle seats for candid close-ups, center rows for tableaux-style illusions. Street parking and nearby lots exist, and public transit from Philadelphia makes it an easy addition to a city weekend. Book this if you want an interactive alternative to standard nightlife. The mix of international talent, an intimate suburban theater, and an audience-judged duel makes the evening feel competitive, communal, and unpredictable.
