You step out of the white, logo'ed surf truck and smell salt and warmed sand as the Pacific stretches flat and blue before you. Instructors in yellow shirts guide the group across the grassy verge to a small, sandy entry where mellow, peeling waves line up like an invitation. The lesson begins on land—shoulders, balance, a practiced pop-up—then moves into shoulder-to-head-high surf where coaches paddle alongside and cue body position in real time.
