Morning light slices across rice fields as a limousine pulls out of Hanoi’s Old Quarter, carrying a small group toward two of northern Vietnam’s headline landscapes: the karst plains of Ninh Binh and the emerald islands of Ha Long Bay. On day one the itinerary moves from the scale of Bai Dinh Pagoda’s monumental terraces to the intimate rhythm of a sampan threading Trang An’s water tunnels; on day two you trade wide river flatlands for the open sea and limestone needles of Ha Long.
