Morning light slices across limestone ridges as the van drops you at Buru Hut and the air fills with the sharp scent of mountain brook and pine. Day one threads a 9 km loop up Borzesi brook, through narrow gorges and past two waterfalls; at times the trail gives way and you follow the stream through rapids and mossy boulders to the old watermill at Gura Jigaului. A picnic on Coltu Corbului Peak rewards the climb with open views before a wooded descent to a simple guesthouse in Rimetea.
