Twilight LAUNCH Sessions: Evening Airbag & Trampoline Training in Barrie

Read the full experience

Twilight LAUNCH Sessions turn an otherwise industrial training compound into a high-energy playground for freestyle skiers and snowboarders. Located in Barrie, Ontario, LAUNCH operates a dry slope complex with trampolines and a large airbag landing system that lets athletes practice spins, flips and technical tricks without snow or slope risk. The three-hour Twilight session - trampoline access for up to three hours and airbag time for up to two - compresses focused progress into a compact evening block (typical schedule: trampoline only 5pm–6pm; combined airbag and trampoline from 6pm–8pm). The facility's headline features are simple and exact: Olympic-grade trampolines, a deep foam landing bag, and an artificial dry-slope surface designed to mimic snow's glide when waxed correctly. That artificial surface and the requirement that athletes wax skis or snowboards with paraffin underlines LAUNCH's attention to equipment care and longevity - small rituals that protect the surface and sharpen performance. Sessions run under strict coaching and certification standards aligned with Freestyle Canada and Canada Snowboard: athletes must be accompanied by certified coaches and Canadian participants require current NSO/PTSA/PTSO licenses. What distinguishes LAUNCH is its coaching-first model. Unlike unstructured skate-park-style drop-ins, these Twilight sessions demand coach oversight that matches the skill being trained - Air 1 through Air 3 qualifications for trampoline and airbag supervision depending on the maneuver complexity. That professionalism makes LAUNCH a hub for clubs polishing competition runs, for athletes rehearsing new rotations, or for adults refining aerial awareness in a controlled environment. Practical details matter: check-in happens at the Freestyle Ontario/Ontario Snowboard tent at the base of the airbag during the 30-minute window before your session. Equipment standards are enforced - no cracked edges, helmets required, full-body clothing, and no lubricants other than water or dried wax. Teams can book private buyouts outside normal hours by contacting [email protected]. For travelers based in Barrie, Twilight sessions offer concentrated training with clear progression markers: trampoline drills build rotation timing; airbag reps teach safe landings; and the dry slope keeps movement continuous between repetitions. The site's rules and coach qualifications create a safety-forward culture that accelerates skill while lowering risk, which is why local clubs and provincial programs use LAUNCH as a seasonal training cornerstone. Whether you're an aspiring competitor or a coach plotting the next trick sequence, an evening session here is efficient, focused, and engineered to push flight time without the weather. Spectators are welcome to watch from designated viewing areas near the tent, and the facility's emphasis on coach-controlled sessions keeps the rhythm organized so teams can cycle through drills efficiently. For visiting athletes, Barrie provides easy lodging options and gear shops nearby, making Twilight LAUNCH Sessions a practical evening investment in progression whether you're prepping for a season or polishing a single trick or tuning competition entries.
