You step off the air-conditioned minibus into bright Caribbean light: Playa Paraíso’s powder sand warms your toes while the sea, impossibly clear, dares you to wade in. Later the jungle closes around Kaan Luum, its lagoon a deep, slow breath framed by mangroves and a small, dark cenote at its heart. By afternoon you lower yourself into Kuxtal and Zacil-Há, where water blurs the line between sky and stone.
