You purchase your tubes from Salt River Recreation for $25.00 ea. and take the Salt River Recreation Shuttle to the river. A valid driver license is required for a tube rental. A deposit per 5 tubes rented is required. Children must be at least eight (8) years or older AND four feet tall for tubing and shuttle bus. Life vests are strongly recommended for children, non-and-inexperienced swimmers.

If a child does not meet BOTH of these requirements, SRTR will not rent tubes or provide transportation to ANYONE in the group. NO EXCEPTIONS ARE PERMITTED TO THIS POLICY!
LIFE VESTS are recommended for Children, ALL NON-SWIMMERS, inexperienced swimmers and ANY swimmer who questions whether He/She needs a life vest!
ALCOHOL, DRUGS, and the Salt River DO NOT MIX! Play it safe…Don’t Do It! Have a great time responsibly and appoint a designated driver before your tubing adventure.
GLASS CONTAINERS are NOT ALLOWED at Salt River Tubing or the Lower Salt River Recreational Area.
Ice chests/coolers will be checked for glass containers. It is against the law to use glass containers at the Salt River and glass containers will be confiscated!
DRINK PLENTY OF WATER while tubing. Drink at least 1-2 bottles of water per hour while floating to help prevent dehydration.
TENNIS SHOES or other protective footwear are needed to protect against cuts, scrapes, and bruises while walking to/from the Salt River’s entry and exit points.
Shoes will help protect your feet from the River’s rocky bottom.
SUNBLOCK lotion should be applied BEFORE and DURING your floating trip. Minimum 30 SPF.
WEAR a CAP, HAT or VISOR while tubing. It will help shield your face and head from the rays of the sun.
TYING the TUBES together is NOT recommended.
STYROFOAM COOLERS are NOT recommended for tubing on the Salt River.

DO NOT LITTER! “Stash it and Bag it” in litter bags while tubing. Dump all trash in designated receptacles at Bus Stops. Join Tonto National Forest and Salt River Tubing in being a “Salt River Heroes = Litter Zero”! Help keep Salt River clean and beautiful!
Sturdy sandals or water shoes help prevent slips and protect your feet while on rocks or in the water.
Sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses are crucial for staying comfortable during sunny float days.
Plenty of water helps keep you refreshed and prevents dehydration in the Arizona heat.
