Experience a scenic 1-hour horseback ride along the picturesque North Platte River, suitable for all skill levels. Enjoy a 3-mile loop surrounded by vibrant wildlife, including bald eagles and herons. About

Ride a scenic, 3-mile loop that follows the south bank of the North Platte River. Along the ride there are a variety of native grasses, flowers and trees to be enjoyed, as well as different species of birds including bald eagles, hawks, ducks, geese, gulls, red-winged black birds, and great blue heron, along with other wildlife.

This is a walking trail ride suitable for both inexperienced and experienced riders, ages 6 and older.

We welcome large groups for birthday parties, reunions, company excursions, etc. For parties larger than 18, please call us at 308-530-0048 to book your trail ride.

Please check in at Dusty Trails, 2717 N. Buffalo Bill Ave, North Platte, at least 5 minutes prior to your ride time. The horseback ride will begin promptly at the scheduled time.

  • Long pants and closed toed shoes are recommended, but not required.
  • We ride in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately for the weather.
  • All participants are required to listen to and follow directions given by the wranglers, regardless of previous riding experience.
  • Mounting blocks are available and will be used at the wranglers' discretion.
  • If anyone in your party has any physical/mental limitations we should know about please let us know when booking as well as when you check in for your ride.
  • If you are looking for something different than a walking trail ride, please call us to schedule a lesson or a private ride.
  • A valid Nebraska Park Entry Permit is required for all vehicles on the premises. These may be purchased when checking in for your trail ride or may be purchased online at https://outdoornebraska.gov/
  • Our petting zoo is available to be visited before and after your ride and may be enjoyed by all riding participants at no additional charge. For non-horseback riding guests, the petting zoo may be enjoyed for $5 per person, 2 years and younger free.

Cancellation Notes:

Reservations may be canceled up to one week prior to your scheduled appointment and will be refunded (minus a 10% booking fee). Cancellations less than one week prior to your scheduled appointment are non-refundable. If you need to reschedule your ride or adjust the number of participants, please contact us at 308-530-0048. If we cancel your ride for any reason, you will be fully refunded.
