Enjoy a scenic train ride to Colgate Grove, where you'll savor a delicious catered meal, listen to live music from talented performers, and unwind by fire pits in nature's tranquility. Join us for a unique blend of food and entertainment!

Enjoy an enchanting evening of good food and music with our exciting NEW Trackside Tastes and Tunes summer series.

Take a leisurely scenic train ride to Colgate Grove for a 1.5-hour layover where you'll be treated to live performances from a variety of performers throughout the season, indulge in a delicious catered meal, sip on local brews from a cash beer van provided by Juniata Brewing Company, play lawn games or cozy up by fire pits, and disconnect in the serenity of nature trackside at America's oldest operating narrow-gauge railroad.

Additional Information:

  • Trains operate rain or shine. Dinner is served under covered picnic pavilions and all train car accommodations are enclosed. Be sure to come prepared for the weather and outside temperatures.
  • Our train is wheelchair accessible! Access is provided to the train by a hydraulic lift capable of accommodating up to 600lbs. and standard-width wheelchairs.
  • Colgate Grove is a natural picnic area. While we have constructed compacted gravel walkways and boarding platforms, not all areas will be accessible to those using mobility devices. There are no paved walkways at Colgate Grove. Wheelchair-accessible portable restrooms are available.
  • Artists and musical entertainment are subject to change for any reason, at any time, without warning.
  • Outside food and beverages are not permitted during this event. Alcoholic beverages must be consumed at Colgate Grove and are not permitted on the train. Please drink responsibly.
  • Please contact our station with any dietary requests or restrictions PRIOR to booking.

Railroad Ticketing Policies:

  • Train motive power (steam or diesel)
  • Fares and schedules are subject to change without notice

  • All sales and transactions are final. There are no refunds on ticket purchases. The total value of the ticket may be transferred to credit in the form of an online gift card, so long as changes are made prior to your train excursion, tour, ride, or other experience. Cases of family emergency or illness are handled on an individual basis. Any changes to a reservation may be subject to a $6.00 fee per ticket. Tickets are not transferable. 
  • Passengers must be checked in at the ticket window no later than 15 minutes prior to their first ride, tour, or experience. Any reservations which are not checked in after that time may be released to the waiting public without refund.
  • Your credit card will be processed at the time of booking. Unpaid reservations will not be held without previous arrangement. Unpaid reservations will be canceled 24 hours before the date of the experience.
  • While we work hard to maintain published schedules, consists, and itineraries, the EBTF can change equipment or motive power at any time, for any reason, without notice. The EBTF reserves the right to cancel any experience, tour, or excursion for any reason, including but not limited to, inclement weather or mechanical problems. The EBTF will not be held liable for any delays regardless of the cause. Safety is our number one priority. If motive power changes, visitors can reschedule their experience to another date or request a credit following the policies outlined above. Refunds for changes in motive power will only be issued if there was a difference in fare paid.
  • Every reservation is issued a car and seat number at the time of booking. Tickets purchased together in one booking or order will be seated together automatically. Parties with multiple reservations are not automatically grouped. It is the visitor's responsibility to inform our ticket office prior to your date of departure if you would like to be seated with another party. Reservations booked on the same day, or even at the same time, still do not ensure that passengers are seated together. We make every effort to accommodate these requests, however, we can only guarantee seating if all members of the party are booked under the same reservation.

Smoking & Firearms Policy: 

  • Smoking is prohibited outside of designated areas. Smoking is strictly prohibited on any train, tour, or trolley. This includes cigarettes, e-cigarettes, cigars, pipes, and vapor pens. 
  • Visitors are not permitted to carry firearms on any train, shop tour, or vintage trolley. Firearms are also prohibited within any EBTF or RTY building or public space.
