Adventure Tips

Secure Park Permits in Advance

Permits for overnight camping in Algonquin Provincial Park are mandatory and must be purchased separately before your trip.

Wear a Personal Flotation Device

PFDs are required by law for all paddlers—bring your own or rent one to stay safe on the water.

Plan Daily Distances Conservatively

Calm waters and portages can slow your pace—plan routes that allow plenty of daylight and rest time.

Check Weather Before Launch

Algonquin’s weather changes rapidly; always check forecasts and be prepared for wind or rain.
