The tour starts in the morning next to Atocha station, where you will catch an AVE, Spain's famous high-speed train, to travel to Toledo together with your local guide. After arriving at the Toledo train station, we will walk towards the city to cross the Tagus river and then enter the historic centre, enjoying the views of the medieval bridge and the city's old walls. In about 20 minutes, we will reach Plaza de Zocodover and we will explore the old town where Christian, Jewish and Muslim elements blended through centuries to shape this unique city.
During the walking tour, we will visit the Cathedral of Toledo, one of the most famous Gothic temples in the country, and also the church of Santo Tomé. In this little church you will marvel at El Greco's The Burial of Count of Orgaz, one of Spain's most acclaimed masterpieces.
After the guided tour and visiting these two highlights (the cost of the tickets is included in the price) your guide will give you some recommendations to have a good lunch at a local restaurant and you will get some free time to walk on your own or buy some souvenirs.
Finally, we will return by taxi to the station to catch the train back. During the return trip, you'll be able to relax on the train while seeing the Spanish landscape go by at over 300 km per hour. You'll be back in Madrid at around 4pm to continue the day at your leisure.
